Respite Options

Below is a list of respite options available for your family. You may contact agencies directly, or contact the Children's Community Network for more information. 

Please Note: This list is not extensive and is being provided for informational purposes only; it does not constitute an endorsement or approval by the Children's Community Network. Some of the options listed may have a waitlist and some are offered privately (i.e. fee for service). Some private respite fees may be eligible for reimbursement with respite funding; you are encouraged to reach out to your funding source directly to confirm.

Admission Criteria : My Center is a community-based Day Program for mid – high functioning individuals ages 14+ experiencing life with a disability, and display little to no aggressive behaviours. It is a safe and fun environment for individuals to make friends, build confidence, learn important life skills, and gain independence.
Activities : My Center uniquely provides a daily routine of indoor and outdoor recreational activities, supports, and educational opportunities. It is a very interactive and physically active environment. Monthly activities can include:

• Sports (basketball, hockey, soccer, bowling, ping pong, etc.)
• Public Outings (Science North, Sudbury 5 games, visiting a farm, etc.)
• Weekly walk to Bell Park
• BBQ Lunches

My Center also overs a wide range of daily activities. Our facility features:

• Large outdoor yard with access to hiking trails.
• Gymnasium
• Movie Lounge
• Computer Lab
• Arts & Crafts
• Games Room
• Music Exploration
Comments : The Youth Program (14-18) offers a Summer Day Program (Full Time and Part Time available) as well as programs during School Holidays (PA days and breaks).

*All programs include indoor/outdoor recreation, socialization, and education components.
